Eagles Parade

PHILIDELPHIA, PA- An estimated 3.2 million people were in attendance at the 2018 Super Bowl Parade held in the hometown of the Eagles, according to sports talk radio host Angelo Cataldi. The most anticipated game of the season was the Philadelphia Eagles against the New England Patriots. A surprising win for the underdog team ended up being the most attended parade in city history, said city officials.

Parade goers traveled from all over the country to witness the historic parade that will go down in history. Kimberly Wysin said, “I came all the way from Arizona to be here with my family. I grew up an Eagles fan and have never lost hope in my team. My dad was so excited he called me the day after we won to tell me he was buying me a plane ticket.”

The Eagles have consistently been the most doubted team in the NFL since the beginning, but this year were given the chance to prove the opposing teams and their fans wrong.

Many of the players were given the opportunity to make speeches at the end of the parade. Quarterback Nick Foles said, “to be a part of the Philadelphia Eagles, to be a part of these guys, is one of the greatest things I’ve ever done in my life. It’s an honor for us to bring you all a Super Bowl.”

In hopes of making this a reoccurring win, Carson Wentz said in his speech, “I knew this was a special place, a special locker room, a special organization, special coaching, and some serious special fans. I knew it wouldn’t take long until we were standing up here. I hope you all can get used to this.”

Another fan, Brandon Barone, was so excited he kept chanting “E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES,” over and over again behind me during the parade. He has been a fan since his father put him in Eagles onesies ever since he was a baby.

The Associated Press reported, "we were wondering if we would ever see the Eagles win a Super Bowl in our lifetimes, and we may not ever see another one, that’s why we’re here today,” said John Thompson, 56.

The team was just as excited as the fans, if not more. Teammate Jason Kelce went as far as finding a mummer’s costume and walked the whole parade keeping fans excited and involved in the excitement. His speech at the end was the most exciting of them all, getting the entire crowd to chant and yell along with him.

The Eagles came out this season with the Super Bowl title and a fan base that would follow them anywhere. Philly fans may be known to go to far sometimes, but they never lost hope in their team.
